Colin Kielty specializes in democratic theory. He teaches the core courses in the Philosophy, Politics, Economics & Law Program (PPEL 261, PPEL 262, PPEL 363). His research focuses on the political theory of voting and elections, including normative and conceptual questions related to institutional design, the history of political thought about elections and electoralism, and the relationship between elections and other aspects of democracy. As a secondary focus, Kielty’s research also explores the role of technology and media in democratic theory and practice.
