Students should engage in career exploration and planning at each step of their college experience. Prior to the declaration of a major, a student’s academic advisor, trusted faculty mentors, career planning Wellness 101 courses, and UR Career Services provide helpful advice.
The Department of Political Science offers advice and guidance for students as they advance through the major and prepare for their transition to their career. The Life after UR event, held in the spring semester, is an important professional development and networking opportunity. On the Suggested Tracks page, students will find recommended courses and co-curricular pursuits based on areas of professional interest. The Post-Graduation page directs students to resources to further explore potential pathways nearing and following graduation.
Students who have declared their major in political science are added to the major’s listserv. In addition to announcing Department events, the listserv is an invaluable resource for internships, fellowships, and job opportunities.
